As part of your family’s dental hygiene, brushing your teeth twice a day, and if possible after eating sweets especially, we recommend a visit every 6 months to get your teeth cleaned and checked for the health of your teeth and your gums. Since there have been so many changes in dentistry in even just the last ten or twenty years, we’re writing a mini-series to highlight the changes. We’ve written about beautiful spaces, quality care, amenities, and now we’re focusing on the amazing new technologies that give you the best care available while making you more comfortable.

3-D Digital Imaging for Modeling Teeth
We’ve already written a blog post about iTero 3-D computer aided design for modeling teeth. This ultra-modern way of perfectly mapping out the teeth without having to use the molds and rubbery material to create an impression is better for everyone – you, your children and your dentists.

State of the Art X Ray with Galileos 3-D
Galileos 3-D Dental Cone Beam is another new technology that provides the best 360 degree X-rays with the least exposure to our patients. Patients stand up next to the base of this equipment, while the imaging piece rotates around them.
CEREC by Sirona is very much appreciated by our patients. The fact that you can now get a crown or a filling replaced in a single visit for less money usually than in the past, not only saves you money, but also time with an increase in comfort.

The CEREC technology
Take a look at this high tech piece of equipment. It’s small and actually carves out the shape of tooth needed from digital imaging. It “mills” a modern resin-like square into the exact shape needed for your tooth repair.
This is the first part of our New Technology post. There’s more to come in our Changing the Way You Feel about Dentists mini-series.
